WHAT IS MOUSTICIDE?
MOUSTICIDE™ is a super biolarvicide designed to kill mosquito larvae while being harmless to people and the environment.
Designed to kill larvae in any situation, MOUSTICIDE™ is available in two formulations – Rice husk (granule) for domestic use and wettable powder for large-scale purposes.
WHY MOUSTICIDE?
MOUSTICIDE™ is highly effective to reduce mosquitos because it targets the larval stage where they are most vulnerable and easily detected in standing water.
MOUSTICIDE™ disrupts the most critical stage of the mosquito life-cycle and targets the mosquito problem at the source, where they are most vulnerable.
Highly Effective Mosquito Larvicide. Kills before adulthood.
Target Specific Yet Effective Against All Mosquito Species
Non-Toxic to All Other Organisms
Biodegradable. Environmentally friendly
Sustainable and Cost Effective
Long lasting effect. No insect resistance
MOUSTICIDE™
Control mosquito larvae safely and effectively
HOW IT WORKS?
MOUSTICIDE™ combines TMOF™ expressed in yeast cells and Bti larvicide (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) which punches holes in the gut of mosquito larvae. TMOF™ and Bti work together to enhance the larvicide effect 200-fold. Rice husks are used as a carrier for MOUSTICIDE™ as they float on water, where the yeast is released and eaten by larvae. Once eaten, larvae die by starvation.
TMOF™ or Trypsin Modulating Oostatic Factor is a mosquito protein that stops the release of the digestive enzyme trypsin in mosquito larvae. Without trypsin, digestion cannot occur and mosquito larvae starve to death.
MOUSTICIDE™ is safe to use because it is non-toxic and biodegradable. MOUSTICIDE™ contains two naturally occurring active ingredients that work together to kill larvae. Trypsin modulating oostatic factor (TMOF) stops their digestion and Bti punches holes in their gut. This synergy makes MOUSTICIDE™ 200 times more effective than Bti alone and kills 100% of larvae within 1-6 hours.
HOW TO USE
Control Dengue and Malaria
Directly at the Source
MOUSTICIDE™ is resistance-proof and therefore future-proof.
Mosquito control interventions using chemical insecticides fail because mosquitoes eventually develop resistance to the insecticide. This usually occurs less than 5 years after the insecticide is introduced.
TMOF™ is mosquito-derived for mosquito’s demise
TMOF™ is a mosquito hormone originally purified from the ovaries of the female Aedes aegypti mosquito. We express TMOF™ in recombinant yeast cells that are readily eaten by larvae. When eaten, TMOF™ stops the release of the digestive enzyme trypsin in mosquito larvae. Without trypsin, digestion cannot occur and mosquito larvae starve to death.
